The industrial lots in the Skarðsmóar area are just north of Sauðárkrókur, the region‘s centre for commerce and services. The area measures just under 16 hectares (160,000 m2). These lots are well connected to the harbor area of Sauðárkrókur, and although they have not been developed yet, the proximity to the town and other industrial plants make these lots attractive for small to medium sized operations.
The industrial site at Brimnes is located on the east coast of Skagafjörður, 19 km south of Hofsós and 27 km east of Sauðárkrókur. Currently, the potential industrial site at Brimnes is approximately 1 km wide and 4 km long. At the location of Brimnes it is possible to build a harbor capable of docking large vessels, making this lot very well suited for location for heavy industries.
